Palace Gate Corporation is currently seeking a Sr. Security Engineer for our premier client in downtown Chicago. This is a FTE Direct hire opportunity.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in development and implementation of the Information Security strategy, architecture, governance, compliance, risk and auditing functions.
  • Identify security architecture and implementation gaps, vulnerabilities and risks; develop, test and implement solutions to address gaps, as well as new or updated requirements.
  • Lead security projects assigned by the Information Security Manager to ensure timely completion in cooperation with other teams. Includes status and risk reporting.
  • Ensure appropriate monitoring and controls are in place to maintain appropriate access levels.
  • Contribute to development, assessment and coordination of information security policies, procedures and work instructions to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
  • Prepare and advise on security-related communications within IS, to company user community and to external clients as appropriate.
  • Support initiatives to determine and document compliance to company, client, and regulatory expectations.
  • Work on Incident and Problem resolution for tickets assigned to Information Security Team.
  • Carry out assigned support responsibilities, including on-call support rotation and keep Information Security management updated on activities and results.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 5 + years of Information Security/Network operations.
  • Background in WAN/LAN engineering/support preferred.
  • Working knowledge of and hands-on experience with the following technology areas: Defense-in-Depth principles and best practices Network and application vulnerabilities assessment and remediation, Security event monitoring, Incident Response processes & procedures, IDS/IPS, Firewalls, APT detection and prevention, Malware prevention, DDOS detection and prevention, DLP, VPN, Network protocols, Routing & switching, Two-factor authentication, Encryption, Virtualization.
  • Experience in a global environment preferred, including collaboration with colleagues overseas to understand and coordinate cross-border security efforts.
  • Practical knowledge in the information governance arena, including experience with records management, compliance & data security and privacy in professional services environments with specific experience in North America and Asia a plus.
  • Collaborative work style with experience interfacing with various teams (technical and non-technical) to identify and resolve issues and implement effective solutions.

Education and Certifications:

  • CISSP and/or SANS certifications preferred
  • Cisco CCNP preferred
  • Check Point CCSE preferred
