Palace Gate Corporation is currently hiring for a Senior Business Continuity Analyst for our premier client in downtown Chicago. This is a full-time position in the financial services industry.

Job Description

Develop and implement business continuity policies, procedures and guidelines. Lead emergency response procedures to mobilize employees in response to an emergency situation. Work with crisis management and disaster recovery professionals to be able to recover data, if necessary, and maintain control in an emergency. Position sits in the Infrastructure Tech Services department.

Duties and Responsibilities

Business Continuity Management

  • Develop and implement business continuity policies, procedures, standards and guidelines
  • Maintain the currency of recovery capabilities and continuity plan documents in accordance with the organization's strategic direction
  • Interact with business units to plan, direct and test business continuity plans
  • Perform periodic reviews and tests of established business continuity plans and procedures, report findings to management and make recommendations for improvements as needed
  • Drive business impact analysis efforts to validate that business continuity plans have appropriate response procedures to mitigate exposure to regulatory, financial and reputational impacts
  • Contribute thought leadership to business continuity practices

Emergency Response

  • Lead emergency response procedures to mobilize employees in response to an emergency situation
  • Coordinate building evacuation drills to ensure the life and safety of employees, consultants and visitors
  • Coordinate with emergency response teams, building management and emergency services organizations during a crisis and under extreme pressure
  • Release emergency communications to notify occupants of a facility emergency and verify their life and safety
  • Verify that immediate response procedures are carried out by affected business units


Crisis Management

  • Lead crisis management procedures to maintain command and control over any crisis situation that may arise
  • Coordinate with emergency response teams, building management and emergency services organizations during a crisis and under extreme pressure
  • Prepare and release emergency notifications to mobilize and activate a crisis command center
  • Coordinate damage assessment procedures to determine the nature, cause and impact of any damage and to facilitate service restoration activities

Disaster Recovery Management

  • Lead the execution of technical recovery procedures to ensure the ability to recover in the event of an unforeseen disruption to facilities, technology systems, or business applications
  • Interface with IT application and infrastructure service owners to ensure that technical recovery sequences for applications and systems are appropriate and that adequate recovery plans exist
  • Schedule, coordinate and conduct planned technical recovery tests. Document problems, assign problem resolution to individuals and monitor to ensure correction.
  • Facilitate timely identification, escalation, resolution and follow-up for all outstanding issues
  • Work with external vendors and service providers to assess and test their capability to sustain services and recover their mission critical systems should a vendor be affected by a disaster

Education and Training

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline; Master’s degree preferred
  • Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP) or similar industry certification preferred

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of five to seven years experience in a business continuity role
  • Asset Management and Investment industry experience preferred
