Project Manager/ Business Analyst with Enterprise Data Management (EDM)

Palace Gate Corporation is in immediate need of a Project Manager/Business Analyst – Enterprise Data Management (EDM) for our premier client in the Chicago loop. This is a full time position. The Project Manager / Business Analyst – EDM will report to the Program Manager – EDM.

The Enterprise Data Management Program is responsible for establishing a system of processes and tools to manage and consolidate disparate sources of investment management data. The EDM program will provide our clients a platform to consolidate a variety of static, market and internally generated dynamic data domains such as client/account, security master, price, holdings, transactions, etc. Our client has selected Eagle PACE to serve as the consolidated platform. The members of the EDM team function as the change agents across the Enterprise with a focus on promoting solid data governance, stewardship and metadata management practices.

This role will assist the EDM Program Manager in program execution and will be responsible for one or more of the work streams. The PM/BA will be responsible for analyzing the business needs, identifying business problems, and proposing technology and change management solutions. The PM/BA will define and document requirements in collaboration with business personnel and ensure that proposed solutions are compatible with our client’s strategic direction. The PM/BA will seek to identify potential issues and work to ensure these are resolved in a timely manner. The PM/BA will also be involved in Eagle PACE configuration and responsible for working with developers on the data mapping, file extract specifications, developing test scripts and testing of the data extracts and uploads. The incumbent will contribute to the execution of the Master Data Management projects around securities and portfolio reference data, as well as configuration of the operational data stores, data mart, OLAP reports, and metadata management tools.

Professional Experience and Technical Skills

· Investment industry experience is a must

· Typically 8+ years of experience leading to successful demonstration of competencies as presented above

· Solid understanding of various Investment Management data domains, such as portfolio accounting, asset reference, client/account reference, performance and analytics, internal and client reporting

· Experience with Eagle PACE is essential; experience with SRM is preferred

· Familiarity with data dictionary, data governance, data stewardship, data quality concepts and tools

· Ability to work in a disciplined development environment, including the use of project management methodologies and system development life-cycles

· Exceptional communication skills, written and oral, with demonstrated ability to create a free-flowing information environment

· Characteristics for success in this role include being results-oriented and delivery-focused; achieving results under difficult conditions and demonstrating balanced judgment under pressure; setting high performance for self; being pragmatic and persistent

· Strong, professional work ethic

Education and Training

· Bachelor’s Degree

· Certifications are preferred

Duties and Responsibilities

· Provide expertise and knowledge of the Investment Management industry's data management and information delivery tools and technologies such as Eagle PACE

· Work with the business teams to translate business requirements into effective delivery of technology solutions

· Develop a strong understanding of business requirements, working with developers and business users to define system and process specifications

· Identify and propose technology solutions for business needs

· Engage with business users to source, analyze, map and validate business data

· Develop report specifications based on reporting requirements

· Maintain required documentation, such as business requirements, project plans, issues lists, test scenarios, process and data flow diagrams, turnover documentation, and content for the metadata repository

· Lead and contribute to the development, configuration, unit and integration testing, and migration of data uploaders, exporters, message steams, OLAP reports and queries in Eagle PACE

· Assist in the development and rollout of metadata management tools
